Urban People

Photographing a variety of individuals in different cities has enabled me to produce a series of narrative vignettes depicting the interactions between people and their urban environments. In places architectural backdrops and signage are strategically used whilst in other images delicate lighting is utilised to capture the more intimate moments between people. There’s an informality and randomness with many of the photographs and an intentionality, framing and design with others. Variety is also created by both photographing people in cafes from the pedestrian areas and taking pictures from inside these outlets of people on the streets – diverse approaches that have helped to create balance and harmony within this body of work.
