Balance and symmetry are often the basic tenets of construction but when photographing architecture it is the oddly angled shapes that make much more of an impact than the ubiquitous rectangular structures. Captured creatively, abstract angular institutions generate intrigue and invite closer inspection while the lack of everyday reference points can challenge the viewer to analyze and appreciate the inherent beauty within. Geometric shapes and rhythmic patterns can also reveal the relationship between abstract art and modernist architecture and this is something I have attempted to capture in this thematic body of work.
