Travellers

With documentary photography the emphasis is on visual story telling together with social and society relevant issues. The subject matter does not necessarily have to be contentious or political, but the images should have a strong narrative content. Gratuitous or sensational mages should ideally be avoided and the photographer should aim to develop strong relationships, confidence and trust from the people being photographed.

Through repeated visits to the same nomadic family group I have managed to produce a thematic panel of images that explores the daily lives, every day situations and traditions of a modern day travelling family. The family group are very welcoming to me, they have allowed me into the community and it has been a privilege to record various aspects of their every day activities.
