Gallery People

Museums, galleries and tourist attractions provide a fertile photographic canvas and this panel of images is as much about people as it is about architecture and space that the public occupy. The candid nature of the individuals photographed has not only produced a delicate and informal set of pictures, but it also provides the viewer with a sense of scale and grandeur about these internal spaces. Modernist stone washed walls, together with intentional lead-in lines help to isolate subjects whilst purposeful framing against interior windows, not only offer an understanding about the indigenous environment, but it also communicates the variety of ways in which the space is being utilised. Public places are as varied as the folk using them and they are without doubt a rich tapestry of photographic opportunity.
